AMCO states stand

IMPHAL, Jun 17: Denying the accusation by KCP MC that the Catholic schools of the State are spreading Christianity through educational institutions, the All Manipur Christian Organization (AMCO) has clarified that this accusation is totally false and a direct challenge to all the Christians living in the State.
A press release issued by AMCO mentioned that in the past few days, there have been a series of threats and accusations  on the Christians in the State, particularly the Catholics, by KCP MC and it added that on June 6, a hand grenade was even placed at the residential gate of a priest residing at Mantripukhri.
Clarifying that the accusation of armed group that Catholic schools are spreading Christianity through educational institutions is totally false, AMCO appealed to all those concerned to refrain from making such allegations to avoid disharmony and conflict in the State.
AMCO further clarified that there is no promotion nor spreading of any religion in the Catholic educational institutions and appealed to all to respect the Constitutional rights of religious freedom to promote and to practice.
Once again appealing to all to acknowledge the contribution of Catholic schools in the field of education in the State, AMCO  urged all the CSOs, student bodies, parents associations and State to take this issue seriously in order to preserve the peaceful atmosphere for thousands of students.
