DIMAPUR, Jun 20 : In its mouthpiece ‘Nagalim Voice’, the NSCN-IM said it is time for the Government of India to “show to the Nagas that it stands committed to solve the Naga political issue for which it has signed the historic Framework Agreement”.
Interestingly, NSCN-IM general secretary, Th Muivah is now back in New Delhi preparing for the Indo-Naga political talks to resume. He was in Hebron Camp, Nagaland for sometime.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM mouthpiece, in its editorial, expressed hope that the Narendra Modi Government will resolve the Naga political issue this time. “It is heartening to see Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi storming back to power with overwhelming mandate,” said the editorial of ‘Nagalim Voice’, adding, “During his first  election campaign in 2014, Modi promised to solve the Indo-Naga  issue within eighteen (18) months, and he did stand to his words as the Framework Agreement was signed, to work out the final settlement of Indo-Naga political issue”.
The NSCN-IM news bulletin then expressed that the process of continuing the Indo-Naga political negotiation should be fair and sincere without making any attempt to give different color of interpretation, particularly on the issue of Naga flag and Constitution. “To overrule the sanctity of these two symbolic issues will go deep to hurt the sentiments of the Nagas,” it expressed, adding, “Certainly, it is the final reckoning time for the Government of India to prove her sincerity towards the Naga political  solution”.
According to the NSCN-IM news bulletin, during the 2019 election campaign, Ram Madhav, BJP  general secretary, made a statement during his visit to Kohima that  the “final Naga political settlement will take place after the 2019 general election”. The NSCN-IM news bulletin then asserted, “Now, it is time for the BJP Government to pick up  the thread of the Indo-Naga political negotiation which was put on  hold because of the general election". It added, "The ball must be set rolling in right earnest”.
