IMPHAL, Jul 10 : The proposed shutdown called by All Manipur Selected 2000 Candidates of Police Constable (Civil/Male) 2013 Batch has been called off following the fulfilment of the demand made by the organisation.
It can be recalled that the organisation had warned to impose a two-day shutdown across the State from July 10 if the State Government fails to provide appointment letter and posting to the selected candidates of the said 2013 batch.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, All Manipur Selected 2000 Candidates of Police Constable (Civil/Male) 2013 Batch president Ahongshangbam Binoy said that the proposed shutdown was called off following an order of the Manipur Home Department notifying appointment letter and posting of the selected candidates, yesterday.
He lauded the decision of the State Government for considering the grievances of the selected candidates.
Notably, a series of democratic agitations were held earlier demanding the authority concerned to take up prompt action for the selected candidates of 2013 Batch.
A meeting conducted on July 8 at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai Community Hall resolved to impose a two day Statewide shutdown from July 10 midnight.
