Court has directed Ukhrul DC to release MGNREGS funds: JAC

Ukhrul, Jul 11: A PIL filed by convener Ukhrul District NREGA JAC against the State Government in matter of non release of MGNREGS fund was  dispose off yesterday by Manipur High Court in favour of the petitioner.
Speaking to media persons at Ukhrul District Working Journalists' Association (UDWJA) office at Viewland, Ukhrul, the convener of the JAC, Dickson Ngalung stated that, 'the Court has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul to release the MGNREGA fund sanctioned as Ist instalment 2019-2020 and clearance of old pending liabilities (wages & materials) of MGNREGA and also the release of Ist and 2nd instalment 2018-2019 which amount to Rs 558.15 lakh pertaining to villages under Ukhrul district'.
Further, the Court appointed Additional Chief Secretary (RD & PR) & Vice Chairman MSRDA to look into the issue and resolve at earliest, he said lauding the Court order.
