Dance-drama Gandhari presented

IMPHAL, Jul 12 : Gandhari, a dance drama, produced by Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Imphal was shown at the academy's auditorium today.
Governor PB Acharya, while speaking at the occasion as the chief guest, congratulated Jiten for his invaluable contribution in the field of dance.
Maintaining that Manipuri dance is not the art of Manipur alone, it is also an art of India as a whole, he added that its development is as important as the development of other aspects of total cultural heritage.
The Governor further lauded the Academy, which was established more than 60 years ago with the sole objective of preserving and propagating Manipuri culture, particularly dance, has been devoting itself whole heartedly to the noble cause since then.
Kavita Acharya, wife of the Governor was also present in the function.
Meanwhile, JNMDA vice chairman Professor H Tombi  attended the function as president.
