Indo-Myanmar Friendship tour flagged off

IMPHAL, Jul 13 : A six-day Indo-Myanmar Friendship Tour 2019, organised by Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur in association with IPAK Tours & Travels, was flagged off from Kangla western gate Imphal by patron member, Patriotic Writers Forum Manipur and social activist Oinam Romen, today morning.
A group of 17 members including State's eminent writers, social and cultural activists, educationists and senior citizens are on this trip.
Speaking at the flagging off ceremony, Dr Manaoton lauded PWF Manipur for taking up such a venture to follow  the path of the Meiteis residing outside the State and added that the trip will further strengthen the relation between the India and Myanmar.
Troupe leader as well as PWF Manipur secretary Rakesh Naorem, while narrating the objective of organising the trip, said that the group will meet and greet the Meiteis residing in Myanmar and will also examine their way of life in another country.
The trip's full report will be disclosed to the public, he added.
On the other hand, Social activist Oinam Romen said that  it is indeed important and necessary to find out all Meitei brethens who have been separated during unfortunate times and are settling outside the State.
PWF Manipur president Yaiskul Khwairakpam and founder secretary OC Meira were also present at the function.
Kamala of Mandalay who will be the guide of the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Tour assured to take care of the group  and added that the group will be taken to all the Meitei villages in Mandalay during the trip.
The 17 member group was accorded a warm welcome by Vice Principal Modhuchandra and students of Slopeland Public School Khongjom at around 7.30 am.
As part of the reception ceremony, a wall poster of all the 17 members of the trip was released.
