Ema market's image at stake?

IMPHAL, Jul 14: Even as the State prides itself for having the largest all women Ema market, the Manipur Keithel Phambi Apunba Lup has sounded alarm over the deteriorating image of market due to misconduct on the part of authorities concerned.
The market complex now has some vendors and shops run by men, said Manipur Keithel Phambi Apunba Lup president Laishram Ongbi Memma at Manipur Press Club expressing concern that it has maligned the image and destroying the aged tradition and culture.
While appealing the Imphal Municipal Corporation to look into the various affairs of the market for further development, she also urged it to check conduct of businesses which might damage the integrity of the aged sacred market.
