Foot overbridge constructions stalled

IMPHAL, Jul 14: Foot overbridge construction works have been put on hold due to non-release of funds by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, said PWD SE Yumnam Joykumar today.
Foot overbridges are being constructed at - across BT road,  near Little Flower School, near Nityaipat Chuthek etc to facilitate safe crossing of roads.
Speaking to this reporter, Y Joykumar said that construction of the foot overbridges started in December 2018. As the stipulated period for completion of the works lapsed, the Ministry has  not released the fund, he said informing that the PWD has written to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to extend the period given for completion of the works. The works will resume as soon as the fund is released, he said.
