Awareness cum hands on training held

District administration Imphal East, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, organised an awareness cum hands on training on social and emergency response to disaster/natural calamities at Andro community hall today.
The programme was organised in partnership with experts from Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal East branch. The team demonstrated safety and emergency response measures to disasters.
Speaking to media persons, Indian Red Cross Society secretary stressed on the need to be aware and to disseminate the know-how among the public about natural calamities. Apart from officials of district administration and expert members from Red Cross Society, elected members from Andro Nagar Panchayat including chairperson, Councillors and Meira Paibi leaders attended the function. Over 150 locals residing in the area attended the programme enthusiastically in which an interaction was also held between the experts and the locals.
