NONEY, Jul 15:
Claiming that the minimum guidance value of the land  fixed and ordered by the Revenue Department is imbalance and shows bias attitude towards other communities or District, Villages  Council Longmai Area (VCLA) appealed all the concerned authorities and political leaders for verification and rectification of the order within 15 days.
The land enforcement valuation order issued by the Revenue Department is deem fit to be termed as injustice for the inequalities in the fixation of the land value rates which is different from one District to another, said a  statement of VCLA, chairman, D Adai.
Alleging that land value rates in Tamenglong and Noney Districts show low margin rates as Rs 60-Rs 1.50 per sq ft and Rs 80-Rs 4 per sq ft compared to Rs 300 per sq ft (roadside), Rs 50 per sq ft (areas of Dist HQ) and Rs 10 per sq ft (along State and National Highways), the chairman urged the concerned authority to produce a white paper in the interest of the public.
Justice musn't be violated but rather uphold enabling the people to avail their righteous share equally, he said, cautioning that various agitations will be launched if the demand is not within the stipulated time.
