IW Super Division League: YWC-L extend winning run, MPSC hold CHIKL in high scoring clash

IMPHAL, Jul 17 : YWC, Langthabal downed BMSC, Taobungkhok by 2-0 goals to register their second win at Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak in the ongoing 20th Sougaijam Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division League Football Tournament 2019 organised by Imphal West District Football Association while MPSC managed to salvage a point after a 4-4 draw CHIKL, Chajing in another high scoring encounter of the tournament.
YWC-L which took of the tournament with a 2-1 win against CHIKL rode on early strikes to beat BMSC, Taobungkhok today as the latter team improved well in the latter half of the match and deterred YWC forays. L Binoy was first to find the finishing touch in the  11th minute for the Langthabal side while his compatriot S Sivasha doubled their advantage in the 27th minute. Their offences continued in the latter part of the game but BMSC, which also had few close calls to cut the gap, made their stand clear to deny further goals to keep the scoreline unchange.
A Jamson Singh (33) of YWC-L and Lungailan R (43')  of BMSC were yellow carded by the referee for their unsportsmanlike behaviours.
Meanwhile the second match was a classy affair as K Amarjit's four goals for CHIKL fell short after MPSC rallied back to draw level and successfully saved a point. Mangkholen of MPSC was also the highlight of the day as he contributed two goals in MPSC revival.
K Amarjit drew first blood in the 17th minute after few earlier exchanges but Mangkholen of MPSC was at his best to draw level in the 34th minute before he overturned the lead during the additional time of the first half (45+2').
CHIKL fought back with a right approach after the restart and Amarjit hit his second to pull level in the 51st minute. The parity was however broken as relentless MPSC regained the lead in the 58th minute with the help of Golmei's fine strike but K Amarjit did not let his team lose hope with a brilliant strike 5 minutes latter before turning the table in the 73rd minute off beautiful counter attacks that left MPSC defence in lurch.
MPSC also did not give up easily as they toiled hard for the equaliser which they eventually get in the 76th minute  and made it 4-4. The game was an end to affair after the equaliser and the normal time proved too little for the two teams to find the difference.
G Akham of CHIKL (5') and Haokhosei (23') of MPSC were yellow carded by the referee.
YDO, Konjeng Lamdong Leikai will meet SKYC, Awang Sekmai in the 6th match of the tournament on July 19 at 1.30 pm while YWC-L will take on MPSC in the next encounter latter at 3.15 pm.
