Chumbang FC down Beking United 2-1 in KAPAAM Cup

IMPHAL, Jul 5 : Chumbang FC maintained their fine form at the ongoing 3rd KAPAAM Cup as they sealed a 2-1 win against Beking United FC at Kapaam Public Ground today. Mahou Tera FC also managed to beat Unapal FC by 7-6 goals on penalties in another match played latter.
Winkle was highlight of the day as he scored a brace to give Chumbang FC a 2-0 advantage over Beking United before the latter made a late return but could not affect the lead.
Winkle put Chumbang FC ahead in the 17th minute of the match while his second came up in the 28th minute of the match. The lone goal of Beking United was scored by Thangoulen at the stroke of the hour mark.
Meanwhile in the another match, Mahou Tera FC and Unapal FC played out a 3-3 during normal time before Mahou Tera FC got the better in the penalty shoot-out.
Mahou Tera FC made a brilliant start to the game as Manglenthang and Bippin scored a goal each in the 18th and the 19th minute to set up a 2-0 lead against Unapal FC.
Unapal FC cut the gap in the 26th minute when Dalung found the net but Issac helped Mahou Tera FC retain the two goal advantage with his strike during the additional time of the first half (45+3') before Adik of Unapal FC cut the gap again the very same minute to keep a space for revival. It was three minutes past the hour mark that Solomon made it all level and give the game a hue of tight contest.
Both teams toiled hard to find the winner in the remainder of the normal time but the scoreline remained unchanged leading the game to be decided via penalty shoot-out.
In the shoot-out, Solomon, Lungunhao and Hegou scored in the shootout for Unapal FC while Bippin, Lunminthang, Ngamboy and Issac all scored for Mahou Tera to ensure a 7-6 aggregate finish.
