Kakching, Telien United progress at KAPAAM Cup

IMPHAL, Jul 6 : Kakching and Telien United made themselves into the next stage of the ongoing 3rd KAPAAM Cup with shoot-out wins against their respective rivals at Kapaam Public Ground today.
The 28th minute of the match saw Kakching come from behind to finish the normal time in a 1-1 draw before beating LYCC 5-4 on penalties.
JS Alower put LYCC ahead in the 24th minute of the match but it was Yaiphaba of Kakching who helped salvage his team a 1-1 draw with the former as he struck the equaliser in the 48th minute of the match. In the shoot-out, Kakching's Sanju, Druba, Killer and Ashok scored while only Atlee, Sanjoy and Wangpol scored for LYCC.
Meanwhile the 29th match of the tournament was a keenly contested match as Telian United take lead twice but Shooting Star FC rallied back to cancel out the lead although they fell behind in the shoot-out.
Thangtinlen opened up the scoring in the 10th minute of the match to give Telian United the lead but Shurtho of Shooting Star FC drew level 7th minutes latter before Chaoba of Telian United helped his team retain the lead in the 47th minute.
Shooting Star then took 13 minutes to come to the level term again, this time with the help of Awangdo. Despite desperate attempts from both the ends to find the winner the scoreline remained unchanged till the end of normal time indicating the penalty shoot-out to decide the winners. In the shoot-out, Patrick, Daniel, Nelson, Mangku and Henry scored for Telien United making it 7-6 as Shurho, Sinlo, Nekato and Rhitsho scored for the losing team.
