Foundation stone laying ceremony for model schools under 'School Fagathansi Mission' held at different districts

CCpur/Tpl/Tbl/Cdl/Bpr/Noney, Aug 17: Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Minister  V Hangkhanlian laid the foundation stone for improvement of Rengkai Higher Secondary School, under the ‘School Fagathansi Mission’, at Rengkai Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur town, today.
Foundation stone were also laid in some other Assembly Constituencies like Kangvai Higher Secondary School in Henglep A/C; Sagang Higher Secondary School in Saikot A/C; Singngat Higher Secondary School in Singngat A/C; and at other schools in Thanlon A/C and Tipaimukh A/C by the MLA.
Speaking as chief guest, Hangkhanlian said that Department of Education (S), GoM is planning to improve the education system by improving the quality of education introducing classes from Preparatory to Higher Secondary level.
He further said that Rengkai High School was upgraded in 1990 for better education of the students adding it is fortunate that Rengkai Higher Secondary School is being included in the first 25 list for laying the foundation today.
He further informed that improvement of infrastructures like building, classrooms, floor, laboratories, drinking water supply, separate toilets for boys and girls, adequate teaching and non-teaching staff will be made available through this mission.
Under the School Fagathansi Mission, the Government will provide free admission, text books, uniforms etc, he said.
The Minister appealed to the school staff, parents, local leaders and village authority to extend support to the initiative of the State Govt to make the School Fagathansi Mission a success.
The function was organized by the Department of Education (S), Zonal Education Officer, Churachandpur.
The ceremony was attended by the staff and students of the school, local leaders, ZEO officials, DC, SDO and others dignitaries.
Tengnoupal, Aug 17: MLA D Korungthang  unveiled the foundation stone of 'School Fagathansi Mission' at Moreh Govt Higher Secondary School, Border town Moreh today.
The programme was attended by S Shokhothang Haokip, Principal Moreh Govt Higher Secondary School as functional president while Tongpao Mate, vice-Chairman ADC Chandel,  H Rupachandra DC Tengnoupal, N Arunkumar ZEO Tengnoupal, Lamboi Gangte ADC member attended as guests of honour.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA D Korungthang said that politics in education is danger for the society and discrimination in rendering health services is akin to committing a crime.
He continued that school fagathansi mission is a positive step taken up by the Govt and sought cooperation from the public to make the mission a success.
Thoubal: Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam laid the foundation stone for improvement of the school under School Fagathansi Mission at Sekmai Khumbi High School, Nongpok Sekmai.
 The Minister stated that the State Government acknowledges the importance of education sector in developmental process.
The School Fagathansi Mission is being implemented today simultaneously throughout the state in all the 60 Assembly Constituencies in first phase.
School Fagathansi Mission was launched earlier this year on January 18.
 The school selected under the mission will be emphasised for development in terms of physical and manpower infrastructural gaps, increase in enrolment and improved the students’ achievement.
Saying that every teachers should treat their students with affection while imparting education, Th Radheshyam appealed  the teachers and parents/guardians to encourage and motivate the students even when they are failing in the class.
In this first phase of School Fagathansi Mission implemented today one High or Higher Secondary School in each ACs is selected totalling to 29 (Twenty Nine) High Schools and 31 (Thirty One) Higher Secondary Schools.
The schools shall have classes from Pre-Primary to Class X or Class XII except for nine schools which have VI – XII.
He mentioned that process is underway to make school inspection compulsory by the concerned authorities and officials of the Directorate of Education (S).
The Minister also said that as a new initiative to be soon implemented, every Saturday will be a ‘No Bag Day’ for Class I – VIII to enhance extra curriculum activities in schools.
Deputy Commissioner Thoubal District, N Bandana Devi said that the School Fagathansi Mission is one important mission implemented in all the Assembly Constituencies of Manipur.
She said that the Sekmai Khumbi High School, Nongpok Sekmai is a well maintained school with more than 345 students and the enrolment of students in the next academic session is expected to increase.
ZEO, Thoubal Arambam Anilkumar, concerned officials of the ZEO, teachers, SMDC members, students and parents also attended the programme.
CHANDEL: Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Letpao Haokip today launched the "School Fagathansi Mission" for Chandel district at the Maha Union Higher Secondary School at Japhou, Chandel.
He laid the foundation stone of the mission at the school.
Sixty Government schools have been short listed from the 60 Assembly Constituencies of the State, and the mission was launched simultaneously in these 60 schools today in order to upgrade them to a model schools.
Letpao Haokip graced the function as chief guest while, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel Krishna Kumar and ZEO Chandel, L Nabakumar Singh, MES attended as guest of honours and Principal of Maha Union Higher Secondary School, Th Iboyaima Singh as the president of the function.
Speaking at the function, Letpao Haokip said that all children should be given proper education irrespective of their background in order to become important’ members of the society.
The School Fagathansi Mission, that is being launched today is taken up to provide affordable ‘quality’ education to our children, he said and added that the idea to launch such  programme was taken up after deliberate consideration by the Government cabinet.
The Minister further said that being an important member does not necessarily means to become an IAS, MCS or doctor, engineer only but to become productive citizens of the society.
 The minister also assured he will look into the matter of fulfilling various shortcomings of the Maha Union Higher Secondary School such as lack of staff, quarters and other infrastructures.
Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar also spoke about the need of quality education in these modern times, and expressed hope that this mission will bring about a drastic change in the education scenario of Chandel District.
Later, the dignitaries including the Minister launched the "Jal Shakti Abhiyan" in the school and also planted tree saplings in the school campus as part of the function.
The dignitaries also spoke about the need to conserve  water through different techniques.
Mahesh Choudhury from Ministry of Jal Shakti Abhiyan highlighted the need of rain water harvesting to the  students and the staff.
Bishnupur: To improve the education system of Govt School and to provide quality education to the students, foundation laying ceremony for model schools under “School Fagathansi Mission” was held at six different schools of different constituencies of Bishnupur District today.
The foundation stone laid at Leimapokpam Govt Public High School in Nambol AC was unveiled by MLA N Loken Singh in the presence of DI ZEO Zone 4 N Ranjit, Headmistress of the school L Manglembi Devi and  SDO/BDO Nambol Ch Bobo.
In Oinam AC, Chairperson Oinam Municipal Council Oinam, N Sanahal Devi unveiled thd foundation stone of Govt Girls High School. Headmistress Th Nalini Devi, Dy Inspector of School Zone 4 (Bishnupur) Th Raghumani Singh, Project Director PWD Y Joykumar Singh were also present in the programme.
MLA T Robindro Singh led the unveiling of foundation stone in Thanga AC at Thanga High School in the presence of former minister Salam Ibohal, Retd ZEO Bishnupur N Chaoba  and other staff of the Dept.
For Moirang AC, the foundation stone was unveiled by MLA P Sharatchandra Singh at Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School in the presence of Principal, Vice-Principal and staff of the school and staff of the Dept.
In Kumbi AC, the foundation stone was laid at Wangoo Higher Secondary School and was unveiled by MLA S Bira Singh while for Bishnupur AC, the foundation stone was laid at Ningthoukhong Higher Secondary School.
Noney: The launching of 'School Fagathansi Mission was held at Tengkonjang Hr Sec School, Noney today.
The programme was jointly organized by Dept of Edn (S), Manipur and ZEO, Noney.
Thaimei Badan, ZEO Noney; Zeno Kamei, ADC member; Kasaigai Gangmei, Chairman Longmai Village Authority; Kadi Rongmei, Dijuanreiyang, Principal graced the function as dignitaries while Kalingsuiliu Pamei, AI ZEO Noney led the programme.
The foundation stone was unveiled by Thaimei Badan.
