Rio re-raises Naga integration bogey

DIMAPUR, Aug 16 : Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio while referring to the Naga political issue, said that the Naga people should not miss the “golden opportunity” this time and reiterated the unification of all Naga inhabited places under a single administrative unit.
He was addressing the 73rd Independence Day celebration at Secretariat Plaza in Kohima on August 15.
The Chief Minister of Nagaland said that “this is the opportune time” for the Naga people to concertedly work out for an “honourable and acceptable solution” to the Naga political issue.
Neiphiu Rio reiterated the integration call of “all the contiguous Naga areas.”  He also said that his Government always supported the Naga integration and democratic rights of the Naga people.  Neiphiu Rio then appealed the “neighbours” of the Naga people to “recognise the history and democratic rights of the Nagas so that they could live together under a spirit of peaceful co-existence in the truest traditions of harmony and friendship”.
Neiphiu Rio expressed hope that the appointment of RN Ravi, as Governor of Nagaland will help.
