School Fagathansi Mission reaches Govt schools with development promises

Imphal, Aug 17: As the Government moves forward to improve schools infrastructures and educational environment, the "School Fagathansi Mission" was launched at various schools across the State today.
Forest and Environment Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar laid the foundation stone for improvement of the Moirangpurel High School under the mission at Moirangpurel, Andro AC, Imphal East.
Speaking as the chief guest of the function, Shyamkumar lauded the initiative of the Chief Minister under the Education Department and said that the 'School Fagathansi Mission' is a long term vision of Chief Minister.
Without education, overall development cannot be brought, he said claiming that the mission aims at shaping the future and improving education system.
Andro Assembly Constituency has six Government high schools, three aided schools, Azad Secondary High School and nine private schools.
Elangbam Sonia SDO, Keirao Bitra, Salam Shantakumar Singh, ZEO, Zone II, Ksh Johnson Singh Headmaster, Moirangpurel High School, M Thoiba Singh, social worker, teachers, students of the school and elders of the area attended the event.
Works Minister Thongam Biswajit also laid the foundation stone for school improvement at the Eastern Ideal High School, Akampat under the School Fagathansi Mission. 
Addressing the gathering, Biswajit stressed on the role of teachers and guardians in moulding students. "School books and syllabus are not different for the Government and private schools... the only difference is in how the teachers associate with their students and how much hard-working the students are," he said advising teachers to make their students human resources that can contribute to State's wealth.
He also urged teachers to spare a little of their regular class time and narrate stories of great personalities to encourage and motivate the students.
Lauding the staff for the initiative taken up in the school to conserve rain water, Biswajit assured that the Assembly Constituency will soon get 24x7 portable water as 'there is a project to set up water reservoirs at seven strategic locations in the Constituency'.
AI of Schools ZEO, Zone II L Shyamchand Singh, Head Mistress, Easter Ideal High School, W Jyotsana and SDC Bashikhong, Rajshree Yambem attended the event.
Khurai AC MLA L Sushindro too launched the mission at Khurai Popular High School while MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei launched the same at Urup High School in Imphal East district.
The mission was also launched at Malom Megha High School, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC and Singjamei Chinga Makha High School by local MLA Soibam Subhaschandra and Corporator Ward No 16 Thokchom Eliza Devi respectively.
