Uyum Houbi mini dam all set to supply water

Bishnupur, Aug 18: Uyum Houbi Mini Dam in Kumbi AC built above Khuga river at the estimated cost of Rs 3 crore since 2015-16 will soon begin supply of water, reports our correspondent. The said mini dam will reportedly supply water to about 3000 pari of Kumbi AC particularly at Kumbi Setupur, Terakhong, Wangoo Sabal, Wangoo Naodakhong, Borayangbi, Sandangkhong and some parts of Churachandpur district including Sagang throughout the season.
Speaking to the media persons, contractor S Premchand Singh said that 95% construction work of the dam has been completed and is ready to supply water to the farmers but the only problem that is hampering the smooth supply of water is the lack of proper canal that connect to the agricultural field of the farmers. He, therefore, appealed the farmers and every section of the public to clear their nearest canal for smooth supply of water so that they can grow all kinds of vegetables and other products.
