Sit-ins demand justice for Babysana

IMPHAL, Aug 18 : Demanding justice for Babysana who was allegedly found hung to death mysteriously inside the hostel of Standard Robarth's Higher Secondary School on July 18, volunteers of Women Social Welfare Association Yumnam Khunou and Women Empowerment Association Yumnam Khunou staged  a sit-in protest at Lainingthou Puthiba Community Hall, Yumnam Khunou, today.
Speaking to media persons, the women said that the two associations strongly condemned the use of excessive force by the police personnel towards the protesters who are demanding justice.
Stating that the authority concerned has failed to bring out the 'truth' behind the death till today, they accused the State Government and police of being 'incompetence' in the investigation of the case.
The inability of the police to solve the case will lead to  people losing trust in them, said the women.
The associations will continue to extend all possible assistance in all agitations initiated by the JAC formed in connection with the death, they said.
Students of Excellent Academy also staged sit-in at the school gate. Womenfolk of Chingkhu Apunba Meira Paibi Lup too staged sit-in in front of the Cosmopolitan High School, today.
