Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2018 to be conferred on 32 artistes today

IMPHAL, Aug 18: The Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2018 will be presented on August 19 at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, Imphal.
The award will be conferred to 32 young artistes by Governor Najma Heptulla, said Chairman of Sangeet Natak Akademi Shekhar Sen speaking to media persons at JNMDA.
The award given to artistes in the field of music, drama, dance and theatre carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000. Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar was established in 2006 and is sponsored by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi,  Shekhar said.
The award ceremony will be organised jointly by Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, he added.
A five-day music, dance and drama festival will also be kicked off with the award ceremony, Shekhar said informing that the festival will be held at two locations- JNMDA and MSFDS, Imphal.
Secretary Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi Dr Rita Swami Choudhary and Director JNMDA L Upendro Sharma were present during the press meet.
