Awareness prog on artificial insemination held at Jiri

Jiribam, Aug 18: The District Veterinary Office, Jiribam has conducted a one-day public awareness programme on artificial insemination with frozen semen technology at the office of Zilla Parishad, Jiribam yesterday.
During the programme, low input technology poultry were also distributed to the 50  farmers.
 Kh Janaki Devi, Adhyaksha, Jiribam attended the function as chief guest while Dr H Chaoba Singh, Director, Veterinary & AH Services as functional president and Dr Kh Shantibala Devi, PO, ICDP, Porompat, Imphal; Dr M Muhindro Singh, Joint Director, Veterinary Jiribam District shared the dais as guests of honour.
Dr Kh Shantibala Devi, PO, ICDP, Porompat, Imphal delivered speech on artificial insemination to the animals and later demonstrated it.
As chief guest, Kh Janaki Devi said that majority of people in Jiribam District are economically backward and such distribution of poultry will benefit the farmers.
She also appreciated the Veterinary Dept for organising such awareness programme.
Director of Vety & AH, GoM Dr H Chaoba Singh lectured on the importance and significance of artificial insemination with frozen semen. He also assured to extend all possible help for imparting training to the locals on artificial insemination and other related subjects through their department.
