JNIMS teachers take casual leave

IMPHAL, Aug 19: Members of Teachers Association JNIMS, protested the suspension of Dr T Nimmi (Obst & Gyne Dept, JNIMS), by taking mass casual leave and staging a sit in protest today.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the protest, Dr N Kumarjit Singh, spokesperson of TA JNIMS, said that all the doctors work as a team and targeting a specific doctor for an incident which involves a team, is highly condemnable.
This incident has created apprehension among the faculty and staff of the institution on whether they will also get suspended if any patient, who are brought under serious condition, perishes, he added.
He then warned that if the suspension order of Dr T Nimmi is not revoked at the earliest, TA JNIMS will intensify its agitation.
It may be mentioned that Dr Nimmi was suspended after a woman died at JNIMS on August 14.
