Workshop on bamboo cultivation and utilization held

Chandel, Aug 19: A one-day workshop on 'Bamboo Cultivation and Utilization' organized by Divisional Forest Officer, Chandel Forest Division, Chandel under National Bamboo Mission was held at Indoor Stadium, Japhou Chandel today.
The workshop was attended by Chief Conservator of Forests/T-II, Kh Brojendro Singh (IFS) as chief guest; CCF and Conservator of Forest, Eastern Circle, W Yaiskul Singh (IFS) as functional president and Commandant 18 Assam Rifles, Colonel Ajit Khatri as guest of honour.
Divisional Forest Officer, Chandel, Ningthianhoi delivered the keynote speech regarding the workshop while CEO, South Asian Bamboo Foundation, Guwahati, Kamesh Salam spoke on "Bamboo Propagation and Plantation & Bamboo Utilization trend of the world" and Bamboo Artisan Elangbam Ajitkumar spoke on "Bamboo Utilization in Manipur" as resource persons.
Later, bamboo entrepreneurs/artisans and the participants conducted threadbare discussion on the theme of the workshop.
Range Forest Officer, Chakpikarong S Shoshee Kumar; Range Forest Officer, Tengnoupal A Ranbir among others were also present in the workshop.
