Babysana's case Further remand for Principal and others

IMPHAL, Aug 19: The Principal, coordinator, head warden and warden of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, who are all presently lodged in Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa and Manipur Central Jail Imphal, were remanded to further judicial custody by the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West till September 2.
During the hearing today, none of the individuals who were arrested in connection with the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana, were present before the Court and instead, the SPs of Manipur Central Jail Sajiwa and Manipur Central Jail submitted a report that they are not able to produce Principal/ founder  of the school, Pheiroijam Landhoni, on health grounds.
The SPs also explained that they are not able to produce coordinator Pheiroijam Romita, junior administrator Pheiroijam Robinson, head warden Illen Kamei and warden Nongmaithem Jinnty, due to the non-availability of  armed escort and prisoner van.
As such, Romita, Illen Kamei and Nongmeithem Jinnty were produced before the Court via video conferencing and they all claimed to have medical complications.
After making necessary observation, the Court directed the SP of Manipur Central Jail to medically examine all three individuals and produce all of the arrested individuals before the Court on September 2.
