Training on entrepreneurship & skill development prog held

A training programme on "Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programme on Essential Oils, Perfumery & Aromatherapy" was inaugurated at MSME Technology Centre Imphal, Food Park, Nilakuthi today.
The training is sponsored by National SC/ST Hub, Ministry of MSME, GoI and also under the aegis of Fragrance & Flavour Development Centre (FFDC), Kannauj and MSME Technology Centre Imphal, Ministry of MSME, GoI.
The training will be continued till August 24.
Speaking as the chief guest of the inaugural function, Th Surendranath, Director, Manipur Science &Technology Council said that to be a successful entrepreneur, creative and innovative mind always go a long way.
Production of items by such entrepreneurs require an identity of their product through registration, he said and added that registration provides recognition of ownership of the product.
Trademark, patent, copyright etc. are necessary to protect the rights of the owner, he informed.
Dr S Yoirentomba Meetei, Project Co-ordinator, MSME Technology Centre Imphal, said that the training programme aims to provide skill training to entrepreneurs, belonging to SC/ST categories, who has the potential to uplift the economic condition.
The successful entrepreneurs in turn can provide employment to the unemployed youths, he added.
The vision of MSME Technology Centre Imphal is to provide meaningful and purposeful training programme in the entire North-East, he further added.
Altogether 30 trainees attended the training, which was conducted for the 2nd time for SC/ST categories.
The training will also put focus on cultivation, processing, quality assurance and marketing of medicinal & aromatic plants and essential oils.
It will also provide guidance to the trainees on availing financial assistance from MSME financial Institutes after starting their business and also the mode of earning income through their production.
M S Khaidem, Project Co-ordinator, Manipur Small Farmers’ Agri Business Consortium, Salle Ashuii Pao, Deputy Director, Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Imphal,  L Ibetombi, Manager, National Small Industries Corporation Limited, Imphal and TN Singh, Asstt Director (Stats), MSME DI, Imphal were present as presidium members of the function. The function was attended by the staff of MSME Technology Centre and the trainees as well.
