Jiribam police arrests murder accused

A team of Jiribam District Police comprising T Rameshwor Singh (SI), Govindaram (ASI) and Ronni (ASI) under the command of SDPO Thangjam Sanatomba Singh (MPS) carried out cordon and search operation at Muolkhangthal village, Borobekra Sub-division today and arrested one Md Inuddin (27) alias Papu Laskar s/o Raziuddin of Kashimpur who is a prime accused in the murder of one Nur Hussain Laskar s/o (L) Sorof Uddin Laskar of Lalpani Part-II (Bakhal), Jirighat, Cachar, Assam on January 9, 2018, said a statement released by SP, Jiribam District.
Police said that the accussed person revealed that he along with his associates had hired one Maruti van belonging to the victim on January 9, 2018 from Jiribam Parking on the pretext of travelling to Noney. Later they murdered the van driver (owner) i.e. victim on the same day and dumped the body into a deep gorge near Charoi Pandomba village along NH-37 and took the Maruti van with them, added the police.
During the course of the investigation, the police recovered the hijacked Maruti van from Mayang Imphal area with the help of GPS device installed in the said van, the statement maintained and added that the body of the victim was also discovered on February 1, 2018 in morning.
Police source said that follow up actions to arrest the other associates who are still at large is being taken up.
