Ukhrul ITI functions with 'outdated' equipments & machineries for practical classes

Ukhrul, Aug 19: Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Ukhrul is functioning with outdated machineries inspite of the State Government new syllabus which require upgradation of all equipments and machineries for practical classes.
According to the report of ITI store keeper, the outdated equipments which was issued  in 2009 are still using for practical classes.
Apart from damaged corridor and floor, most of the installed machineries at the said ITI are in pathetic condition and rusted while the items available in the store room are of substandard qualities and mostly damaged that cannot be further utilise for practical purposes.
A team of All Hunphun Tangs Association today inspected the ITI located at Kasomtang, Ukhrul and found out that the training centre is in pathetic conditions with no new machines except few computers.
The installed machines is not applicable for the new syllabus and guidelines issued by the State Government.
Some of the instructors of ITI, Ukhrul highlighted the difficulties faced while conducting practical classes during the academic session.
They also said that most of the machineries in the centre need upgradation.
A stenographer instructor, Zakir Hussain  stated that one computer was issued for 16 trainees in 2018.
Skin and Care instructor also spoke about the difficulties faced due to shortage of equipments and materials to conduct practical classes.
She mentioned that students are reluctant to attend the classes as the rooms are  not hygienic.
Principal of ITI, Ukhrul Tomchouba Singh informed that the main drawback of ITI, Ukhrul was shortage of raw materials for regular conduct of practical classes.
He also mentioned that some local entrepreneurs attempt to occupy the training centre in spite of their effort to provide regular technical training for the youths of district.
The chairman of AHTA Chonmi Raleng urged concerned Minister and the State Government to look into the grievances, and provide necessary equipments , tools etc for smooth functioning of ITI Ukhrul.
He further urged the State Government to fill up the vacant post for motor mechanic instructor before the beginning of the academic session 2019.
