AR distributes sports equipment

IMPHAL, Sep 12
Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles has distributed various sports equipment during a simple function held at its Sagolmang Company Operating Base (COB) under the aegis of IGAR (South).   
Based on the requirement of sports equipment projected by the locals, the Battalion distributed football and volleyball kits during the function, said a statement of IGAR .
The COB Commander also lectured about the importance of maintaining good health to lead a prosperous life, it added.
While lauding the efforts of the Battalion for its initiative in reaching out to the locals and promoting the culture of sports in the area, the COB Commander assured the villagers that Assam Rifles will continue to work for the welfare and development of the society.
Over 200 locals of the area attended the programme. It also said that the locals conveyed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for promoting sports in the State.
