JN State Level Hockey: Jai Hind H/S to meet Nongchup Imphal in U-17 boys final

IMPHAL, Sep 13 : Imphal East's Jai Hind H/S will be meeting Nongchup Imphal Sagoltongba representing Imphal West in the U-17 boys' final at the State Level Inter School Hockey Tournament for U-17 boys and girls and U-15 boys which is underway at Hockey Stadium, Khuman Lampak under the aegis of Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports. Imphal East's U-15 boys and U-17 girls teams represented by the same school also sealed their final berths today beating their respective rivals.
Imphal East's U-15 boys which opened up their Group B campaign with a 9-0 win against Wabagai HS, Kakching district confirmed their place in the final with a 8-3 win against Dr Radhakrishnan Foundation School, Churachandpur district today.
A Suresh Sharma topscored with three goals (1', 12', 45') for Jai Hind Govt HS while his team mate Kh Somikant managed 2 goals (6', 29') besides Silheiba (7'), Nelson (14') and Y Bidyananda (21') contributing a goal each to set up the huge win against the Churachandpur side. All three goals for Dr Radhakrishnan Foundation was scored by Nelson Ch (23', 36', 45').
U-17 girls of the Jai Hind Govt HS, on the other hand, finished Group B winners and booked the final berth with a 4-0 thrashing of Wabagai HS which are representing Kakching district today.
K Purnima and Bidyaluxmi scored a goal each respectively in the 9th and the 11th minutes to set up the momentum of the game for the winning side before H Silky banged in twice in the 19th and the 26th minutes to make it 4-0.
In a Group A league match for U-15 boys, The Shining Star Academy, Bishnupur earned a 10-0 win against Charangpat HS, Thoubal as N Rohit scored five goals alone (1', 11', 13', 15', 10'). E Bidyasagar chipped in twice for the same team (20', 42') while L Boing (17'), Th Bivekto (32') and Th Bikramjit (40') added a goal each.
Meanwhile in a Group A league match for U-17 girls, Nongchup Imphal team romped past Charangpat HS 8-0 as T Ayingbi (1', 7'), Sh Tanu (2', 15') and Priya (12', 19') scored two goal each besides K Alina (6') and Babysana (9) scoring a goal each.
U-17 Boys competition
The final line up of the U-17 competition participated by 4 teams clubbed into two groups also completed today with Nongchup Imphal team representing Imphal West and Jai Hind Govt HS defeating their respective rivals in the league encounters today.
Nongchup Imphal overwhelmed NNK H/S Thoubal 13-0 riding on four goals by S Sushilkumar (1', 4', 14', 35') who was well assisted by his team mates N Amarjit (6', 26', 31'), I rohit (12', 31'), L Samson (13', 40'). Kh Mykolin (27') and Ph Malemnganba (28') also registered their names on the scoresheet for their contributions.
Jai Hind H/S on the other hand sealed the final berth with a 2-0 win against Wabagai HS courtesy of Bidyananda (5') and Kh Somikant (19') and set up tomorrow's final clash with the Imphal West team.
