IMPHAL, Sep 14: IGP IK Muivah has hailed Needy Home Academy, Mapao Khullen as a school of immense potential.
Attending a programme held at the school today, IK Muivah stated that the residential school is fortunate to be situated in a scenic, non-polluted environment which is also free from disturbances caused by bandhs.
He lauded the immense dedication of the teachers who have high educational qualifications and also have a joint mess with the students besides staying round the clock in the campus, at a time when many teachers are found sending proxies or are irregular in teaching students in various schools.
Needy Home Academy is a quality residential school which focuses on gospel oriented education and is well known for giving free education to scores of orphans. It also has about 525 regular students from all the districts of Manipur.
All the teachers and students live in the campus except one Maths teacher and some students of Mapao Khullen. Students are not allowed to keep mobile phones and the whole of Mapao Khullen has become the first non-smoking village under the positive influence of Needy Home Academy.
The school plans to expand further as a residential college with a Music Academy under the guidance of Associate Professors Dr R Chance and R Angam.
