52nd Engineers' Day observed

IMPHAL, Sep 15 : Institution of Engineers (India) Manipur State Centre observed its 52nd Engineers' Day at Manipur Trade & Expo centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong Imphal today with "Engineering for change" as the theme.
The observation was held in commemoration of 159th birthday of Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
Administrator, Manipur University Jarnail Singh graced the function as the chief guest while retired Chief Engineer PWD Th Joykumar, Controller of Technical Education Manipur M Ibomcha Singh, Chief Engineer, PWD Kh Temba, Director, NIT Manipur Prof Goutam Sutradhar and MSC Chairman N Shyamsundar also attended as dignitaries.
Speaking at the function, Administrator, MU Jarnail Singh  stated that Engineering is a noble and commendable profession and people should appreciate them for their creativity and practical solutions.
He urged all engineers to execute their project with dedication and to maintain quality in their work.
Meanwhile, N Shyamsundar stated that the observing the day also provides an opportunity to honour the retired Engineers.
He further stated that the institute imparts training to many students who aspire to become engineers and workshops on skill development has been also been organised at the institute.
On the other hand, to mark the celebration of Engineers' Day, Engineering  Departments in the State organised a cleanliness drive at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
