Doordarshan celebrates 60th anniversary

IMPHAL, Sep 15 : The 60th anniversary of Doordarshan  was held at the premises of DDK Imphal, Porompat today.
Art & Culture Minister L Jayantakumar, MP Dr RK Ranjan, MLA of Khurai AC as well as chairman LSPDC & LDA L Susindro Meitei and DDK Imphal Director (E) Hemanta Naorem attended the function as dignitaries.
Manipuri folk song, folk dance, western music, tribal and Muslim programme, Manipuri modern song and Shumang Kumhei were shown during the celebration.
Wishing Doordarshan on completion of 60 years, Minister  Jayantakumar remarked the telecast of only nine hours (from 12 an till 9 pm) is unfortunate as it is lagging behind as compared to DDK telecast in other States.
