Tbl 2nd Divn League: YDA, NGL earn group pole positions

IMPHAL, Sep 15 : YDA, Tentha and NGL Lourembem respectively emerged Group A and Group B winners in the ongoing Second Division Football League Tournament organised by District Football Association, Thoubal at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary playground, Thoubal.
YDA earned 9 points from three matches in the Group A competition including today's 5-3 win against UOC, Uyal while AFC-B finish group runners with 3 points. UOC and FFC which finished 3rd and 4th in the same group also shared same 3 points from 1 wins but better goal count of AFC-B earned them the second spot.
Nongdamba scored thrice in the 5-3 win for YDA today including the two opening goals (17', 19', 60') while Shantikumar and Th Krishna grabbed a goal each in the 20th and the 27th minute respectively. M Romeo of YDO conceded an own as as UOC rallied back and it was Langamba who set up the recovery part for the Uyal side scoring twice in the 30th and the 43rd minutes and made it 3-4. However they failed to carry on the momentum and YDA eventually won the game and  finished group winners.
NGL, Lourembam also fetched 9 points from three matches in the Group B competition to win top place while HKKSA, Haokha finished runners up on the back of 6 points from two wins.
UMFC hold REFA in 3rd Divn League
On the other hand, UMFC, Moijing and REFA, Leishangthem shared a point each after a 2-2 draw in today's match of the ongoing Thoubal 3rd Division Football League tournament organised by DFA Thoubal.
Juma Khan hit the opener in the 15th minute to give UMFC a 1-0 lead before his team-mate Akter doubled the advantage 2 minutes later.
However, REFA came back tougher in the second half and equalised the scoreline to 2-2, thanks to goals from L Ojit (49') and Th Ningthouba (51').
