Jayantakumar flags off Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara rally, 15 days observation starts

Imphal, Sep 15: Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar today flagged off a rally in connection with the Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara from the western gate of Kangla.
The rally concluded at JNIMS, Poromopat where the observation of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara kicked started at JNIMS conference hall, which will continue till September 30.
Ravinder, CEO, State Health Agency, Manipur, Joint Director Health, Rang Peter, Director, Health & Family Welfare, Manipur Dr K Rajo, Additional Director Health, Dr Shyamsunder, YRajiv, State Program Manager, NHM, Manipur along with health officials and staff and NHM, Manipur, doctors, nurses, medical and nursing students etc took part in the rally.
Before the flagging off ceremony, Minister Jayantakumar told the media persons that the rally was organized to mark the completion of one year of Ayushman Bharat, a scheme initiated by PM Narendra Modi.
He maintained that the rally will help underline the health schemes introduced by the State Government as well.
Meanwhile, speaking as the chief guest at the main function held at JNIMS conference hall, Jayantakumar said that the direction of health service and its system has changed towards a new course.
Health service is now, no longer limited to the treatment or medication of a sick person but the new concept of health service includes wellness of the people too, he remarked. He said that the new health service aims to let people live healthily and happily.
Many welfare schemes of the people have been covered under the new health policy of the State Government, added the Minister.
The observation of the 15 days long Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara will ensure that the people of the State are well aware of the aspects covered in the scheme, Jayantakumar said.
Maintaining that the schemes will be useless if they are not being utilised or if the people are not aware of them, the Minister urged all stakeholders and concerned department officials to do the needful so that these heath benefits reach the people of the State.
Explaining about the scheme, the Minister said that there are two components under Ayushman Bharat. One is at the grassroots level which includes setting up of Health and Wellness Centre and another component is insurance scheme, in which patients are provided free of treatment cost (upto a limit of Rs 5 lakh) under PM's Jana Arogya Yojna, or the State Government's CMHT.
Jayantakumar said that the Government has introduced several health schemes with an objective to maintain healthy lifestyle of the people covering right from childhood to the stage of an adult.
District Early Intervention Centre, DEICs and Geriatric Centre have been opened at many hospitals including sub-divisional hospitals to provide health care and preventive care measures to newly born children and elderly.
The Minister underscored the importance of raising awareness among the people about the Government's beneficial health schemes, he added.
He then appealed to all medical professionals to maintain ethics so as to build an understanding with the public.
The Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara at JNIMS hall was attended by Ravinder Singh, CEO, State Health Agency, Manipur as the president.
Joint Secretary, Health, Rang Peter, Director Health, Dr K Rajo, Director, JNIMS, Dr Th  Bhimo also attended the main function as the guests of honour.
