World record bid

IMPHAL, Sep 15: The founder of Meitei Shathup Lanthup Thang Ta Academy cum a Thang Ta Master made an attempt to register his name in the World Book of records today, doing one handed push ups by placing his support hand on the blade of a sharp sword.
The record attempt was performed by Sougaijam Bhaba (41) founder cum master of Meitei Shathup Lanthup Thang Ta Academy at Manipur Press Club hall today afternoon following a simple function.
Sougaijam Bhaba did 40 push ups with his right hand on a sharp sword during the demonstration.
Dr Aheibam Rishikesh, Assistant Professor, HOD, Department of Thang Ta, Manipur University of Culture and Dr Yengkhom Sanjitkumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Thang Ta, Manipur University, also witnessed the attempt and made the official counting of the one handed push up.
During the event which was sponsored by Green Revolution Society Manipur, a member of the said association mentioned that the demonstration was made as per the officials guidelines as explained by the authorities concerned for the World Record attempt.
Okram Surjakumar, MLA Khangabok AC, Saikhom Nodia Magang, renowed Thang ta grand master and Samom Reta, Corporator of Ward No 14 also attended the event.
