Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara launched at Ukhrul, Spt

Ukl/Spt, Sep 16: Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul Joseph Pauline Kamson today launched the observation of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara at Mini Secretariat office complex at Hamleikhong Ukhrul for Ukhrul district.
The observation programme is a celebration of one year completion of the national flagship programme of the country.
Speaking as the chief guest of the observance of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara, the DC stressed on the need of delivering the health benefit scheme at the grassroot level.
The comprehensive health scheme has to provide services in all sub-centres and they should function as health and wellness centres, he added and said that health scheme is not only to treat sick persons but to keep them healthy while educating them on physical development and mental well-being.
CMO, Ukhrul Dr Kapangring highlighted the set of activities to be performed in district during the observation of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara from September 15 to 30 in the district adding that ICE campaign, Divas function, observation of world alzheimer & heart day, health camp would be organized for the public in all sub-centres by the district health department in collaboration with line department.
During the camp, free screening of Blood Sugar, BP, Breast Cancer and Cervical cancer will be conducted as a part of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara, he informed.
He further mentioned that the district health department would erect banner, posters and holdings at public places and market area for en masse awareness on the health activities and health benefits scheme that are provided through Ayushman Bharat programme.
Meanwhile, the DC flagged off Walkathon in the presence of CMO, DPO and doctors.
Walkathon rally was organised to create extensive public awareness on health benefits that are availed in the district hospital and other sub-centres.
Medical staffs, Asha worker, facilitators, elders and line department took part in the procession which  began from Mini Secretariat complex and converged at TNL ground, Ukhrul.
Senapati: District Health Society, Senapati launched the 15 days long observation of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwada at Traffic Point, Senapati.
As September 15 falls on Sunday, the day was postponed till today and the inaugural function was attended by Somorjit Salam, DC, Senapati as the chief guest and Dr H Loli Mao, Director, CMO, DHS, Senapati as the president.
The observation started with a Walkathon from traffic point, Senapati to toll gate, Senapati by staffs of the medical department of the district.
Linus, District Coordinator, CMHT & PMJAY, Senapati briefed the benefits of the health schemes at the beginning of the programme while Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, District Leprosy Officer, Senapati spoke on Leprosy saying that Leprosy is not due to past sins or evils but it is a disease caused by mycobacterium leprae which is not hereditary.
Symptoms of Leprosy are development of hypopigmented patches on the skin with loss of sensation, the doctor added and urged all to get in touch with either the ASHA behenji or multi-purpose workers of the district if they experience such symptoms.
He said that free treatment is available at all Govt hospitals which is completely curable with early consultation.
Dr Sumpi Percy, DNO, NCD, Senapati in her speech said that cardiovascular diseases are not communicable but could happen through behavioural risk factor like consuming tobacco products, alcohol and unhealthy diet.
The doctor stressed on the need for timely screening of non-communicable diseases at various NCD centres where she mentioned that such diseases are curable with early detection.
Dr Muanching, DTO, Senapati said that TB is one of the oldest communicable diseases and urged all not to neglect this disease.
Dr H Loli Mao, Director/CMO, DHS, Senapati said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Govt has provided services at every doorstep to screen any sickness under Ayushman Bharat for comprehensive health care including high risk group of a region.
The CMO also highlighted the various benefits under PMJAY and urged the gathering to share the information with the one who had not enrolled themselves for the health schemes to avail the facilities.
The CMO further said that free health check up and awareness programmes would be organised at different places of the district  even though the department had already started at some places.
Speaking as the chief guest, Somorjit Salam said that the programme was organised at the heart of the town to let every individual in the town realised the need of good health.
With the completion of 1 year of the Ayushman Bharat, different achievements in the field had been made, he said adding that the observation would continue for the remaining 15 days of the month.
