Murder case

IMPHAL, Sep 16: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West, today, committed the Naorem Rekha murder case to the Session Judge, Imphal West, for trial, apart from directing the authorities to produce the main accused of the case, Rekha's husband Naorem Dijamani, before the Court concerned on September 27 for necessary proceedings.
The accused husband, Naorem Dijamani (67) s/o (L) Basudeva Singh of Singjamei Thokchom Leikai, who is presently lodged in Sajiwa Manipur Central Jail, was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West for the hearing today, following the charge sheet submitted by the Investigation Officer on August 27.
During the proceeding, the Court committed the case before the Session Judge, Imphal West and directed that the accused be produced before the Session Court on September 27.
It may be mentioned that after the charge sheet was submitted on August 27, CJM Imphal West took cognizance against the husband the same day, before fixing today for the next hearing.
It may be mentioned that Naorem Dijamani has been lodged in judicial custody remand in connection with the murder case of his wife Naorem Rekha, mother of famous fashion designer Robert Naorem, on May 29 this year.
