CM inaugurates infrastructure works

Chief Minister N Biren Singh stated that protection and preservation of the environment is the need of the hour so as to save ‘our future’. He was speaking at an inauguration function of various infrastructure projects/works in Imphal East district today.
Chief Minister N Biren along with Minister for CAF&PD Karam Shyam, Minister for Tribal Affairs and Hills N Kayisii and Minister for Forest and Environment Th Shyamkumar inaugurated tribal working women hostel, Chingmeirong, Nature Learning Centre & CAMPA Data Centre at Forest Office, Mantripukhri and launched digital payment services and National Generic Document Registration System of Imphal East District at the DC office complex.
Speaking as chief guest of the function held at Forest Office, Mantripukhri, the Chief Minister stated that Manipur will prosper in a few years if all the people work with sincerity, transparency and commitment.
With the support of the people, the present Government could complete several projects within a short period of time, he added.
Stating that the Government had given loans to 600-700 entrepreneurs under ‘Start up’ Policy, Biren announced that the Government would distribute soft loans to different entrepreneurs on September 20 at City Convention Center, Imphal.
Biren mentioned that the ‘Chief Minister’s Manipur Green Mission’ was recently launched to protect forest and make Manipur green. A collective responsibility is needed for making the ‘Chief Minister’s Manipur Green Mission’ successful, he added.
He said that a total of 1400 saplings were distributed to the people who turned up to highlight their grievances on Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders’ Day last month.
He announced that the construction of ‘Imphal View’ tower at Langol Hills would be completed soon. The ropeway project to connect Thanga to Chaoba Hill and Langol to Marjing Hill will also be completed in the near future.
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction that 267 villages of Ukhrul district, under the guidance of Tangkhul Naga Long, had come forward to set aside 5 to 10 acres of land in every village for forest conservation under the CM’s Green Manipur Mission.  He said that campaign against single-use plastics has been launched as a part of the Sewa Saptaha and on completion of 100 days of the NDA Government’s second term. He encouraged people to use paper bags, paper cups etc instead of plastic products.
PCCF and Head of Forest Department Kereilhouvi Angami, DC Imphal East Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, SP Imphal East Jogeshchandra Haobijam, officials of various departments attended the function.
