Nagaland sounds alert

DIMAPUR, Sep 2: Nagaland State is on alert after over 19 lakh people could not make it in the final Assam NRC draft roll published on August 31.
The people of Nagaland are apprehensive that there of people who are excluded in the final NRC draft roll of Assam entering the State.
In this regard, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has sounded the red alert and urged the concerned authorities to take up needed measures to prevent the entry of people excluded in Assam  NRC draft roll. The CNTC urged the Nagaland Government to take preventive measures immediately. It further asked all Gaon Buras (GBs), chairmen, village and colony councils to “remain alert so that illegal immigrants do not stay in their respective localities especially foothill areas in the border.” “Every citizen should also keep vigil on their part and be responsible. The respective local authorities should not issue any documents to non-locals at this juncture,” it added.  The CNTC then demanded strict checking of ILP by the State police at every entry point.
