18th Sub-Junior State Level Volleyball: NYVA-A, YMDO, TRYVC and KLYGC emerge Group winners

IMPHAL, Sep 9 : NYVA-A, YMDO, TRYVC and KLYGC emerge Group winners as the quarter final line up of the 18th Sub-Junior State Level Volleyball Tournament being underway at Oinam Volleyball ground, completed today.
TRYVC, Ukhrul topped Group C as the team beat NYVA-B 25-16, 25-19, 23-25, 25-22 in their second match before securing a 25-21, 25-14, 25-17 against IGO, Oinam in their last league match today.
TRYVC will face Group D runners up, PRSC in the quarter final tomorrow.
NYVA-A also extended their winning run by beating YPA-Hiranmei by 3-2 sets in a keenly contested match to top the Group A. NYVA-A started positively but conceded the third and fourth sets before coming back in the decider to wrap up the game 25-19, 25-22, 22-25, 19-25, 15-8.
YPA, Hiranmei finished runners up on the back of a win against SDC, Shamurou yesterday.
NYVA-A will meet KYLSC which beat SDI, Ishok 21-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-18 today to finish Group B runners up, in the quarter final.
YMDO, Heirangoithong on the other hand emerge Group B winners after registering their second win against KYLSC, Kachikhul today. YMDO stumbled in the first set but bounced back stronger in the following sets to finish the game 17-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.
The day also saw PRSC, Pourabi seal their place in the quarter final by overwhelming KSA, Irengbam 25-15, 25-15, 25-18.
Meanwhile, a notification of All Manipur Volleyball Association said that the 8th Senior Women State Level Volleyball Tournament 2019-20 is set to begin from September 10 at the same venue.
A total of 5 teams clubbed into two groups will be vying for top honours in this competition.
