DFA Tbl 2nd Divn League: UOC, YDA emerge victorious in Group A fixtures

IMPHAL, Sep 9 : UOC, Uyal and YDA, Tentha register first match victories in today's Group A league matches of the Second Division League Football Tournament being organised by District Football Association, Thoubal at Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School playground, Thoubal.
The second match of the tournament saw Lamnganba take the centrestage scoring the opener before he rounded off the scoring in the second half to help UOC seal a 3-1 win against FFC, Melaground.
Lamnganba put UOC ahead in the 10th minute of the play before Dinesh banged in the teams second in the 24th minute.
FFC's M Amarjit however halved the gap by striking a fine shot in the 41st minute but failed to sustain their effort to make their way back into the game and to their disappointment Lamnganba banged in his second goal and gave UOC two goal lead once again.
The scoreline remained unchanged despite many efforts from both the ends and thus UOC sealed the game 3-1.
Meanwhile in another Group A league match of the tournament, YDA's freak early 3rd minute goal by N Ronaldo was more than enough to steal all three points against AFC-B, Athokpam.
NGL will meet PADSW, Langathel in the second Group B league match tomorrow at 1.30 pm while NGL, Lourembam will take on HKKSA in the third Group B league match latter at 3.30 pm.
