CYCLONE in Subol Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket final

IMPHAL, Jan 15 : CYCLONE, Thangmeiband had a nervy chase but it was all smiles for the team as they reached 153 runs target to beat CHAMP by 3 wickets and book the final ticket of the 4th T Subol Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
CHAMP had a solid start to their innings after winning the toss as Sanjoy made a mettlesome 49-ball 81 but the team could manage only 152 runs for 4 in 20 overs despite Bullu's 28 and Homeshor's 15 run contributions.
CYCLONE's bowling failed to advance much in this innings as CHAMP stood firm not to concede their wickets and Surajchandra who picked up two was the best CYCLONE had in their bowling department. Bikom and Arun also picked up a wicket each in this innings.
In the chase, Rohindro made an ambitious start and hit a half century before he departed in the 33rd delivery with 60 runs in his name while Shyamsunder kept the chase very much alive by adding 32 runs off 22 balls.
Robindro (13) and Arun (15) made a good middle order contributions after witnessing a brief spell of pace by CHAMP bowlers and successfully steered CYCLONE to the three wicket win.
CHAMP's Gopal, Bablu and Jodiba scalped two wickets each in this innings while Indraban sealed a wicket but their effort fell short as CYCLONE reached home with 3 wickets and 2 balls left to spare.
Rohindro of CYCLONE who had a good outing with the bat was named man of the match.
YWC, Langthabal will meet LCCC, Chajing in the next semi-final match on January 17.
