Singerbond FA edge past JBFC 2-1 as quarter final league begins

IMPHAL, Jan 15 : Singerbond kicked off the quarter final league round of the 1st Moirangthem Jodishchandra Memorial Invitation Football Tournament with a 2-1 win against JBFC, Gilgal today at Jiribam Higher Secondary School Playground.
Singerbond FA started the game positively as Y Dayananda and Mangalsana scored a goal each in the 9th and the 11 minutes before Makalaki pulled back a goal in the 22nd minute to make it 2-1 till the break.
And despite number of forays being made in the latter half, Singerbond FA were unable to extend their lead while JBFC kept on struggling to draw level but to no avail. Eventually Singerbond FA went home 2-1 and ensured their place in the semi-finals.
Singerbond FA will meet Jiribam Police Team in the last Group X quarter final league match on January 19 after Jiribam Police team play JBFC on January 17.
Tomorrow in the first Group Y quarter final league match, UBFC, Hmarkhulien will play Sunrise Club.
