E Pishak Memorial Volleyball; YPA ease to semifinals as PALYDA, KYLSC seal first wins

IMPHAL, Jan 15 : YPA, Hiyanglam Hiranmei romped past Khumujam Brothers in straight sets to made their way to the semi-finals of the 2nd Late Elangbam Pishak Singh Memorial  State Level Men's Open Volleyball Tournament 2020 being organised by Sekmaijin Thongam Development Association (SETDA), Sekmaijin Thongam under the aegis of All Manipur Volleyball Association at its playground.
YPA which scraped past MPSC 3-2 in their opening Group A league match showed why they are title favourites by overwhelming Khumujam Brothers, Mayang Imphal 25-17, 25-9, 25-19 today and completed their league stage in style.
The winners between MPSC and Khumujam Brothers in tomorrow's match will too qualify for semi-finals from Group A as runners up.
Meanwhile PALYDA, Phoubakchao kicked off their Group B league campaign with an easy 25-16, 25-16, 25-22 win against USWC, Uchiwa.
Meanwhile in anoother Group B league match staged  earlier, KYLSC, Kachikhul which enjoyed dominance in first two sets made a comeback to save their blushes and earn a 3-2 win against YMDO, Heirangoithong.
KYLSC after a good start slipped in the third and the fourth sets as YMDO surged ahead with close wins to force another set wherein KYLSC shone and sealed the game 25-16, 27-25, 21-25, 23-25, 15-09.
YMDO will be meeting USWC in the next Group B league match tomorrow before KYLSC, Kachikhul play PALYDA.
