1st M Jodishchandra Memorial Football: Sunrise Club, UBFC play draw match

IMPHAL, Jan 16: Sunrise Club Kadamtala played a 3-3 draw match against UBFC Hmarkhulien, at the knockout stage of the 1st Moirangthem Jodishchandra Memorial Invitation Football Tournament 2020 today, thanks to Y Joychandra who scored treble to level the score.
Today's match at Jiribam Higher Secondary School ground between the Sunrise Club and the UBFC saw keen contest with both teams playing cautiously to score and hold their defence lines.
UBFC led the score line with Lalroul scoring his first in the 19th minute before his team-mate Ela adding another in the 27th minute to make the score 2-0 against the Sunrise Club. After conceding two goals in the early minutes of the game, Sunrise Club saw comeback in the 36th minute with Y Joychandra scoring his first.
The second half saw a more determined Sunrise Club with Y Joychandra converting two more chances into goals in the 48th and 68th minute to lead the score  3-2 against UBFC.
However, UBFC found their equalizer in Lalroul in the 70th minute and the match ended with a final score that read 3-3.
The tournament which started from January 7 is being is being hosted by the All Jiribam Sports Association.
