16th KIWT 2020; Ward No 17, 3, 9, 2 secure wins

KANGPOKPI, Jan 16: Ward No 17, Vengthah Ward No 3, Ward No 9 and Ward 2 won their respective matches of the 16th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2020 at Brig M Thomas Ground Kangpokpi today.
Boipu’s double in the 11th and 61st minutes earned Ward No 17 win over Ward No 14 in the first ground of the main category while Ward No 9 through goals from Paokap (7th,20 th ), Satginlun (10th, 13th) and Lamvangsem (19 th ) won the match 5-0 against Ward No 11 in the third ground.
In the second match of the veteran category, Vengthah Ward No 3 came up with a better form to earn its first 2-0 win over Ward No 12 making huge opportunity to enter the round robin league in the semi-final.
Kaybie Chongloi found the opener in the 15th minute as he slotted home from 20 yard with a right-footed perfect volley while Songsat added another three minutes later for Vengthah Ward No 3.
In last match of the veteran category, Shem Kipgen’s double in the 5th and 23rd minutes gave Ward No 2, 2-0 win against Ward No 8.
