CYCLONE, OSCAR post second successive wins in N Rajningthou Trophy Cricket

IMPHAL, Jan 19 : CYCLONE, Thangmeiband clinched a 202 run victory against Blue Hawk while OSCAR, Paona Bazar defeated Model Club by 6 wickets in today's matches to extend their winning runs at the 2nd MNCA U16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2020.
In the Group B league match staged at Luwangpokpa Cricket ground, CYCLONE elected to bat first and posted a huge target of 256 runs for 7 in 30 overs courtesy Samsung's brilliant knock of 73 runs from 62 balls and 26 runs each from Manglemba and Donny. In reply Blue Hawk, Khurai were all out for just 54 runs in 13.4 overs as Samsung picked up four wickets to wreak havoc across the batting line up of the Khurai team and claim the man of the match award.
Ali Karim who opened up with Samsung registered 18 runs for CYCLONE before he departed in the 21st delivery while his team-mate Bobbyson added 10 runs towards the end of the innings which saw Blue Hawk's Zakir pick up 2 wickets in 6 overs providing 23 runs.
Manish, Atif Shah and Bidyasagar also claimed a wicket each in their names in this innings.
In the chase, Safir and Manish who came out as opener left the crease with 2-ball duck and 5-ball duck respectively before Bidyasagar topscored with only 11 runs on their way to 54 runs total as CYCLONE bowlers were at their best.
Manglemba of CYCLONE also enjoyed a three wicket haul off 3.4 overs sending Punsiba for nil in the 14th over to set up the huge 202 run victory.
Bikash also scalped 2 wickets in 2 overs to give Blue Hawk a torrid time during the chase.
Elsewhere in the Group B league match played at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, OSCAR chased down 127 runs target set by Model Club in just 13.5 overs for 4 to earn their second victory at the tournament.
OCSAR won the toss and let Model Club to bat first wherein the latter team managed 126 runs for 8 in 30 overs.
Grenson and Y Ishan added 36 and 19 runs to get the innings started for Model Club, Chingamakha while Veeraj managed 15 runs before witnessing a gradual breakdown as the game progress. Model Club however managed to stand till the end of the innings which saw M Reichen of Oscar dismiss three crucial wickets and Lalu Kumar bag two wickets.
Dhanaraj and Santosh also managed a wicket each before Vishal Kumar hit a 32-ball 52 in the chase and set the path for a huge win.
Abdul Kaif (13) and Dhanaraj (4) were on the crease when they reached the target in 13.5 overs with 6 wickets in the hand.
Model Club's Grenson managed 2 wickets in this innings which also saw Biyon and Abhijen pick up a wicket each.
OSCAR's Vishal Kumar who hit a half century in the chase was named man of the match.
