IMPHAL, Jan 20 : Manipur's medal count in weightlifting discipline at the 3rd Khelo India Youth Games being held at Guwahati, reached 8 as A Anju Devi won another silver medal today. The day also saw 3 State boxers made it to the finals of the respectively weight categories.
A Anju Devi won the weightlifting silver in the Junior women's 76 kg class after finishing second with a total lift of 163 kg, 73 kg in snatch and 90 kg in clean and jerk.
It may be mentioned that Shandrella Huyam (U-17 girls 59 kg category), Chingkham Nirmala U-21 girls 59 kg)  Phanjoubam Roshni  (junior women's 71 kg) have won gold medals earlier for the State while Warepam Sapana (youth women's 71 kg category) and Potsangbam Umeshori (junior women 64 kg) settled for a silver medal each.
Yumnam Shilheinganbi (junior women 64 kg) and Kh Priyaluxmi (55 kg event for U-17 girls) on the other hand have earned a bronze medal each.
Meanwhile in the boxing semi-finals, S Yaiphaba entered U-17 boys 48 kg category final while H Ambeshori (57 kg), Th Kunjarani (60 kg) were in the U-17 girls to reach the final.
Yesterday, S Victor (56 kg) and S Barun (49 kg) reached the finals from the U-21 boys category while Naorem Babyrojisana (51 kg) and Sanamacha Chanu (75 kg) reached finals from the same age group as W Ethoibi Devi earned the title shot in the U-17 girls 54 kg class.
The day also saw Shagolshem Bijeta Chanu go down 2-3 to Hayrana's Tannu.
