Rehearsal for R-Day

IMPHAL, Jan 21: Informing that the full dress rehearsal of the 71st Republic Day Celebration (January 26), will be organised on January 23 at 7 am, the SP of Traffic Control Police Wing has notified that no vehicles, except that of VIPs and invitees with valid car passes issued by the State Home Department, will be allowed to ply towards north of Krishna Premi Oil pump Moirangkhom on NH-2, Keishampat to Khwai Bazar, Maharani Bridge to Dukanthong, Babuthong, Kanchup road to flyover, Khoyathong to North AOC and  Sanjenthong to Western Gate of Kangla and Keishampat bridge, from 6.30 am of January 23 and 26, respectively until the functions are over.
Informing about traffic diversions arranged during the said period, it explained that all vehicles along Indo-Burma road, will be diverted from Singjamei bridge and New Thumbuthong bridge towards Kongba side and proceed upto Palace Compound before parking there. Vehicles along Mayang Imphal road, will be diverted from Keishampat junction towards former Krishnadas oil pump to drop/pick up passengers beyond the said pump before proceeding towards Kwakeithel and then towards Ningthemcha Karong or Khagempalli road.
Vehicles along NH-39, will be diverted from Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak towards Khuman Lampak bus terminus. It informed that all vehicles will be diverted from MMTA towards Minuthong, RDS Crossing, Kongba road then New Thumbuthong and Singjamei bridge or towards Pandon road, Dingku road. Vehicles on the eastern side (Yaingangpokpi/Lamlai/Porompat/Andro etc) will be diverted towards Khuman Lampak bus terminus from RDS Crossing via Lamlong bazar. Trucks will be diverted in the same route as vehicles long NH-39, or towards RDS Crossing, Singjamei bazar crossing and Thumbuthong for Indo-Burma road towards Pishumthong for Mayang Imphal to Tiddim road.
No vehicles will be allowed to proceed from Minuthong towards North AOC.
It continued that all vehicles coming from New Cachar road will be parked at Sagolband Moirang Leirak bus parking and trucks will be diverted from Tera bazar towards Naoremthong Uripok Canteen road and Lamphel Sanakeithel.
All vehicles coming from Kanchup side will be parked at the Northern side of UK road (beyond the end of flyover bridge).
For Tiddim road, vehicles will be diverted from Kwakeithel bazar towards Tera bazar, Naoremthong, Uripok canteen Leirak road, Lamphel supermarket and come back via Watham Leirak, Thangmeiband road, Nagamapal road, Wahengbam Leikai road, Keishampat junction and pick up passengers from Churachandpur bus parking, Keishampat near former Krishnadas oil pump, it added.
