Left parties observe Statehood Day
IMPHAL, Jan 21: Left political parties, including CPI, CPI  (M), RSP, Forward bloc, observed 48th Manipur Statehood Day at Irawat Bhawan today. Members and dignitaries paid floral tributes at Statehood square near the Mapal Kangjeibung, western gate.
The dignitaries alleged that the BJP led NDA Government in the Centre has been attempting to tarnish the Constitution and ruin the secularism of the country. The Government has passed and implemented CAA on a religious basis, said a press release issued by assistant secretary, MSC/CPI.
People are fighting and launching movements against such attitude of the Government in the Centre and citizens of different States under BJP led State Governments are continuously suffering, the statement alleged.
It claimed that Manipur achieved Statehood, under the leadership of many brave leaders, and it was a result of prolonged movement and struggle by Communists.
