Ward No 17, 12 win in KIWT football

KANGPOKPI, Jan 21: Ward No12 in Under-13 and Ward No17 in the main football category won their respective matches while Ward No 17, 12 (B), 10 and 4 won their respective in the men’s and women’s volleyball matches in the ongoing 16 th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2020 today at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi DHQs.
In the U-13 football match played this morning, Ward No12 sealed a 6-5 win over Ward No 8 via tie break after a goalless draw during the regulation time.
The first match of the main category between Ward No 9 and Ward No 14 also ended in a goalless draw while in the third match Ward No 17 overwhelmed Ward No 11 by 3-0 goals.
Thanggoulal (21st), Boipu (26th) and Thangpu (56th) scored for Ward No17.
In the veteran category, Ward No 8 and Ward No 4 also played out a 2-2 draw. Seiminlen (20th) and Lamminsei (44th) scored for Ward No 8 while Thathang (10th) and Vunggoulen (49th) scored for Ward No 4.
In men’s volleyball, Ward No 10 defeated Ward No 2 in straight sets (25-19/25-16) in the first match and Ward No 4 defeated Ward No 8  25-20, 20-15 in the second match.
In the first match of the women’s category, Ward No 17 defeated Ward No 1(A) 25-19,19-25,25-20 before Ward No 12 (B) defeated Ward No 7 in straight sets (25-11/25-14).
